That’s a great question — and yes, MATECIA’s ecosystem has begun expanding regionally through its associated platforms and events. While the main MATECIA Exhibition is held annually in New Delhi, the organizers — Bigsea Marcom (I) Pvt. Ltd., also behind Ply Reporter, Surfaces Reporter and Furniture Design & Technology (FDT) — curate regional and city-specific design events under related brands.

Here’s how it works:

🔸 MATECIA SOUTHERN INDIA

MATECIA Southern India was held in Bengaluru (BIEC) in February 2025, targeting the southern states (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Goa, etc.).

🔸 The Talk of Town City Events

MATECIA’s media partner and co-organizer, Surfaces Reporter Magazine, conducts city-based architecture and design events across India throughout the year.
Example includes The Talk of Town in cities such as Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata and Lucknow.

These regional gatherings are part of the MATECIA network, promoting innovation, materials knowledge, and design thinking on a smaller, more focused scale.

🔸 Experience Centre Launches and Promotions

Ply Reporter, FDT and Surfaces Reporter also organize industry-specific meetups and showrooms launches for the furniture, decorative surfaces, and interior products.
These often align with MATECIA’s themes — furniture components, surface finishes, automation, and materials — but are held in regional clusters like Delhi-NCR, Pune, or Kochi to reach local manufacturers and designers.
Examples include:

  • EDGE Studio Ahmedabad (in association with brands like TOTO, FIMA, and others)
  • Parallel Studio, New Delhi
  • ARISTO WARDROBES, Bengaluru
  • Delta Faucet at dps Store, Ludhiana and many more…

🔸 Collaborative Brand Events

MATECIA frequently partners with brands and industry bodies for exclusive previews or “Material Innovation Sessions.”
These are typically:

  • Invite-only gatherings for dealers and distributors
  • Organized in collaboration with specific material brands
  • Designed to build community engagement between main exhibitions.

In summary:

Yes, MATECIA’s ecosystem does host and support regional events, but these are conducted under its allied platforms — Surfaces Reporter, WADE Asia, FDT, and Design Dialogues.
The flagship MATECIA Exhibition, however, remains a single national-level event in New Delhi (Yashobhoomi, IICC) and MATECIA Southern India in Bengaluru each year.
