The India Furniture Conclave 2023, part of the Matecia Exhibition at Pragati Maidan on September 22, 2023, was a tremendous success. The conference drew prominent industry leaders, architects, designers, making it a resounding triumph with a substantial footfall.
The event began with a grand ceremonial lamp lighting ceremony, featuring distinguished personalities such as Mr. Sajjan Bhajanka, Chairman of Century Plyboards and President of FIPPI, Kolkata. Other notable personalities including Mr. Krupesh Thakkar, Chairman and Managing Director, Rushil Decor, Ahmedabad; Mr. N. K. Aggarwal, Chairman of Action Tesa Group, Delhi; Dr. M. P. Singh, Director, IWST, Bangalore and visionary Mr. Pragat Dvivedi, Founder of IIR, FDT, Delhi graced the occasion.
Mr. Sajjan Bhajanka, in his keynote address, commended the remarkable growth of the MATECIA exhibition, highlighting its increased size, diversity, and representation. Mr. N. K. Aggarwal emphasized the importance of unity within the building material industry, especially in competing with countries like China. The Burning Issue of the Furniture Industry: Decoding the Skill Gap” tackled the growing concern about the shortage of skilled labor in the industry. Vikram Sharma (Co-Founder, WIFY), Satyan Thukral (CEO, Caple Industrial Solution), Rajesh Chabbria (Managing Director, Abria/Prism Ind. Pvt Ltd.), Ramandeep Singh Ghura (Director, CZAR Designs Private Ltd.), and Saurabh Jain (Director, Decora Kitchens) discussed the implications of this gap on productivity and innovation. Moderated by Rahul Mehta (CEO, FFSC), the panel explored solutions to bridge this gap through training and development initiatives.
